Position: Director / Pre-School Teacher (Preschool)
Education: Bachelor Teaching Early Education, Grand Dip Early Education
Started with OACCC August 2002
I have worked in the child care industry for 37 years and in 3 states, in long day care, family day care and community based childrens centres. I have taught adults at the Gold Coast TAFE child care studies. I was an active participant in several pilot groups that have changed the course of early learning education for children. For example, Seeds Attachment, Building Bridges and Hub programs connecting families with support groups. I was President of the North Gold Coast Family day care, Nerang Community and Neighbourhood Centre and the Cross Cultural Child care network for several years. I have been a strong advocate for higher quality and standards throughout my role as an Accreditor with NCAC and worked as a supply teacher in state schools. My passion is long day care, supporting families through the transition of early education. I directed 6 successful centres over the years all achieving high quality with the Department ECEC and NCAC. OACCC is the longest I have stayed at one centre. There have been many moments of fun and laughter throughout my career and some brow raisers. I am passionate about giving every opportunity for each individual child to develop learning outcomes that are of high interest and challenging.
